Being a support player is a heavy burden for every player, especially in Dota 2. That’s why few people master the intricacies of playing this role. You need to have patience, follow timings and use your skills properly. Usually, Dota 2 supporters perform the role of healers but can act as boosting attack or defense partners in battle.
Remember that a support player is a stealthy job for the good of the team. In the midst of a decisive battle, you’ll need the ability to activate Force Staff or Glimmer Cape in time. In the beginning, you can even distract the enemy while others are farming resources and experience.
You need to understand what kind of advantage the supports give to the team. They are very important in the first 15 minutes of the game. If you don’t use this time wisely, you won’t be able to become a valuable asset to your team. Usually, there are one or two players in the support role. Playing a beginner in this role will not be easy, but it’s worth it because the importance of support to the team is invaluable, and there are very few good players in this role.
Don’t get carried away by the fights! Accurately perform the role of a support, providing help to allies who are farming near you. Distract enemies, and provoke them to do unnecessary actions, while the carry is gaining strength. At the right moment, remember the diversion so as not to get under the enemy’s tower.
Choose the right items and boosts: wards, smokies, and dustes will help you support your team effectively. Provide an overview for your allies with Observer Wards, but use them in not the most obvious places so that the enemies can’t take them down quickly.
If you understand how to play as a support player, you’ll be able to save your allies from death, or at the very least, sacrifice yourself. This will be more expedient than the death of the main damagers. Skills with gold farming will come with experience. The main thing is not to rush and stay calm to rationally assess the situation on the map.
