Dota 2 Gameplay

Dota 2 is a multiplayer role-playing strategy game in the MOBA genre, in which players fight each other in teams of five, trying to destroy the main building at the enemy’s base. The project was developed and released by Valve on July 9, 2013, for PC on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

The game involves two teams of five people each. One group plays for the light side in the south of the map and the other for the dark side in the north. Each user controls only one hero. He gains experience per match, earns gold, unlocks new skills, and buys useful items. All resources are earned by destroying neutral and enemy monsters, as well as players from the enemy team. The main task is the destruction of the main building of the opponent’s base.

Dota 2 differs from its predecessor with a number of changes. The game has added reconnection, the ability to pause and join any unlocked game as a spectator, voice chat, and viewing information about the damage inflicted on the killed player. There is a division of players by geographical zones (now there are fourteen: Western and Eastern Europe, East and West USA, South America, Russia, India, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, Chile, Peru, Dubai, and South Africa). You can adjust the territory manually.

Roles of Heroes:

  • Carry – the heroes on which you can do the most damage to the enemy. As a rule, a lot depends on them by the end of the match, when it has gained the most strength
  • Ganker – a character who plays alone on the mid line. Accumulates experience and gold faster than others.
  • The Offlaner is the most agile character on the team, positioned on the “off line” which is closest to the enemies. He initiates battles and is responsible for acquiring artifacts.
  • Semi-Support – heroes with slow and stun, helping the team to destroy the enemy.
  • Full-Support – is tied to a character in one of the lines and helps the character who is on it. Full-Support also places wards around the map, providing visibility to allies, as well as purchasing consumable items.
  • Valve has also added a replays system, which allows you to review matches with a lot of statistics and data. For example, you can select any of the cameras and follow different characters. Replays are saved in Steam Cloud, so you can send them to other users and show them your game.
